I lived in Ketchikan with my family for two years (Fall 1946 - Summer 1948) while I was in 3rd and 4th grades. We were members of St. John's and my father Ward Schori ran the services for one of those years as a lay reader. He had sermons sent up from Seattle and I have copies of them. The other year we had a priest, whose name I do not remember. I recall him telling a few of us boys ghost stories in the bell tower,

My father worked for the Daily News and we were friends with the owners Bud and Pat Charles. My best friend was George Tanino. My parents knew Casper Mather and we have some of his carvings.

I'll be visiting Ketchikan on August 3-4 and hope to attend church on the 4th at the 10:45 am service. I'll be traveling with my wife Katharine. Perhaps we can chat with a few of you.

Best,
Richard Schori

I just want to let the Yaw's and Chris know that I have been thinking about them.
